This week the delegation represented the Port of Kaliningrad in the common Russian exposition at the exhibition «SITL Europe-2008 » has returned from Paris.

On March, 11-14th the largest European International exhibition on Transport and Logistics took place. More than 1000 international transport companies have been presented at this exhibition, among them such giants, as: СMA-CGM, Deutsche Bahn, Schenker, FM Logistics, Kuehne+Nagel, DHL, Exel, TNT, FM Logistic, Novotrans, Maersk, ports of Hamburg, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Barcelona, Valencia, etc., the European railways and airlines, the airports, manufacturers of port handling equipment and machinery and other participants of the European transport logistics market.

The Ministry of transport of the Russian Federation has invited port of Kaliningrad to participate in this exhibition as a member of common Russian national exposition. The Kaliningrad sea commercial port, in its turn, has acted as the organizer of the joint stand «Port of Kaliningrad», having united not only "KSCP" JSC (the head of delegation - director on operation Mr. Porokhnya), but also the companies providing a continuity of transport process in the port and logistics: Kaliningrad branch FSUE "ROSMORPORT ", «ТB Logistics» CJSC, "ТransExim" JSC, «Mann Lines» CJSC.

In opinion of many visitors of exhibition, Port of Kaliningrad was presenter worthily. Unfortunately, the information about our port is still very small in Europe and for some visitors the existence of such Russian port, located so close to Europe, became a real discovery and the information for consideration on possibility of using its services. «It is surprising, but we were the only Russian port at the exhibition. For us it was advantageous since the businessmen who are doing business in Russia and potential users of port services were simply obliged to appeal to us, - noted the director on operation of "KSCP" JSC Anatoly Porokhnja.-As a result, we have received the interesting offers on using port capacities, on development of container service. At the same time, it was a pity that Russia was not presented by other ports, and there were nothing we could do for clients looking for the contacts at the exhibition with representatives of ports of their cargoes’ handling for consumers in the North and the South of Russia».

Members of Kaliningrad delegation took part in the program of "Russian Day» where Ministers of transport of France and the Netherlands as well as the heads of the largest transport companies of Russia: «TransContainer», «Eurosib», «ReilTransAuto» etc. made speech. «Russian day» at the exhibition was devoted to the following issue: «Russia and Europe – Common Logistic Territory».

Parameter of efficiency of participation of Kaliningrad delegation became not the quantity of the concluded contracts, but the quantity of new contacts which in future will give the positive result - new clients and investors.
